Ratification Defined

"Typically, this refers to the formal approval of a tentative agreement by vote of the union membership of an affected bargaining unit. In the state of Washington, the ratified agreements are then subject to legislative approval of the economic terms. Under RCW 41.80.010, the state legislature will either approve or reject the GovernorÂ’s budget request to fund the collective bargaining agreements."
